We invite you to review and support the document attached which highlights our proposed language for inclusion in the relevant documents for the UN High Level Meeting on the Comprehensive Review of HIV/AIDS taking place in New York City June 8-10 2011.

The recognition of mobile and migrant populations as a vulnerable group that is in urgent need of coordinated regional and global-based strategies to address the multiple intersections of gender, ethnicity, and exclusion is paramount.

Utilizing a Determinants of Health perspective for this dynamic population as a framework for moving forward is essential and with your support we can ensure that these hidden and emerging epidemics, particularly those impacting African and Black populations across the Diaspora, can be addressed.

Please forward this position paper to your respective networks, ministries of health, UN country-level representatives and other organizations and individuals that can help build increased support for mobile and migrant populations.

If your organization or network would like to endorse this statement and have their logo appear on the document please contact  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  by April 30th, 2011 for details.
